The transport to the island improves every year. As well as the small airport which links the island with Athens airport and carferry to Antiparos from Pounda, there are now fast ferryboats and catamarans which have cut the time for the sea-crossing between the ports of Pireaus and Paroikia significantly. The central position of Paros has made it a very busy port and the many visiting boats make it ideal for island-hopping around the Cyclades, Samos Crete Rhodes etc. As well as offering links between Paros and international airports on Mykonos, Crete and Santorini as well as Thessaloniki in Northern Greece.

An important part of the infrastructure of Paros are its harbours and marinas. These are administered by the Port Police (Tel: 22840-21240) and Coast guard.
Marinas on Paros: Paroikia north-west of the island, also the main port of Paros Naoussa north-east working fishing port, natural harbour and marina. Piso Livadi on the east coast recently had extensive work carried out to construct a new marina.
